The sofa in the living room was covered with a fabric designed for the house by the textile designer Johanna Kunelius. When the house was built Kunelius was living in St Petersburg and the inspiration for the fabric pattern The Lion on the Sofa came from sketch she had drawn of an abandoned lion statue. The sadness of the lion appealed to her and she wanted to give a new happy life for the lion in the Leafhouse. The sofa is covered with a lion pattern and the sofa pillows with a leaf pattern, The Lion and the Leaf. Kunelius is nowadays residing in Porvoo.
