Pierre St-Jacques: Grand Central Station
The New York-based media artist Pierre St-Jacques artwork is a video in a slit in the floor on the top floor of the house. The video was filmed at New York’s Grand Central Station and in it you can see people moving around the station’s information point. The artwork transmits the idea about a hidden world, a huge amount of activity that is happening under the surface, without us being aware of it. St-Jacques latches onto the ideology of the Arts & Crafts movement; we have Finnish nature around us and the ants of New York under our feet. The locally produced is always the most important!
