Besides the presented 17 completed artworks in the house, two more proposals were made. One of them was Amy Youngs & Kenneth Rinaldo’s Sprout house. The Media-artist Youngs & Rinaldo from Columbus, USA, planed a lamp that produces not only ambient light, but also grows sprouts! The idea was based on their interest in a green lifestyle. Besides producing light and sprouts (that are very healthy), the lamp also highlights ecological questions about food production and transportation. Because sprouts don’t need light to grow, they are also suitable for Finnish winter conditions. The lamp has not yet been realised.
